About Us
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. - Ephesians 2:1-10
What we're on about...
God is not a force or an idea, but a person. He made us. Therefore, relationships are important to God, and he lovingly seeks relationship with us. However, our rebellion against God (sin) has force such a strain in our relationship with him that we are all under his wrath.
Mercifully, God sent his Son, Jesus, into the world to reconcile us with HIm - a feat achieved by Jesus' death and resurrection.
The wonderful news (called the Gospel) is that all sinners who trust in Jesus are all forgiven by Christ's death and resurrection and are given a fresh start with God making us all saints.
Since God is a relational God, he is also a God who speaks God's clearest communication to us is the message he gave when he sent his Son, Jesus, into the world.
God continues to speak to our world through the Scriptures (the Bible). Hence we are careful, in our church activities, to spend a time reading and understanding what the Bible says.
Yet, any relationship is a two way street. So we are also keen to respond to God in a number of ways:
- by talking to God in prayer,
- by encouraging each other to live lives that please him;
- by celebrating what he has done;
- by praising him in song,
- and by talking with each other about what he has said and done.
At All Saints we place Jesus Christ as Lord. We proclaim his gospel and we value the community of God's people - the church.
We seek to live our lives in the power of the Holy Spirit, after the pattern of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in honour of God.
