Coming to All Saints this December & January

Rogue Christians
What would you call a group of people who fight with each other; who have moral standards the modern world would shudder at; who readily sue each other in court; who divide over factional leaders at the drop of a hat; who blatantly disregard others at a meal; and who are confused over basic tenants of the group's purpose?
A political party? A dysfunctional club? A bunch of losers?
Curiously all these things were happening in the first century church at Cornith, and the apostle Paul writes to address these problems and more. Yet without hesitation he still calls them the church of God. How can this be?
Join us each sunday morning at either 8.30am or 10.15am to examine Paul's first letter to the Corinthians.

Reading 1 Corinthians 11 on 27th May

At All Saints we normally have two sets of readings. One upon which we preach, the other which we read together as a church. On Sunday 27th May the latter reading was 1 Corinthians 11:2-16. This is a difficult passage for the modern ear and sensitivities and yet a passage not without an explanation. A few have remarked that a comment (and not just a reading) would have been helpful. In hindsight this is right.
